Gear Review: Double Time V-Tee by Title Nine
So full disclosure – I spent over 6 years working for Title Nine. Out of every piece of gear that I collected over that time (that’s a LOT of gear… my closet is stuffed!), the Double-Time V-Tee was my favorite piece. EVER.
It’s the first technical shirt I’ve ever had that actually looked cute and not like I stole it out of my husband’s closet. It’s got a subtle V-neck… not enough to allow your chest to sunburn, but enough to give the shirt some shape. The rouching at the shoulders is feminine and the cut of the shirt is slimming and shaped, but without being clingy. Oh, and it’s a cap-sleeve that doesn’t squeeze your arms right in that terrible arm-flab spot. ‘Cause really – we’ve all got a little pucker that doesn’t need to be squeezed!
Cuteness aside – this shirt is the dryest-feeling material I’ve ever worn. It’s Title Nine’s Matahari fabric, which is basically a woven Poly. It’s UPF 35, so you can bet it gets the job done, but it’s also light and airy. There’s no slippery-sticky feeling here.
So where have I rocked this wondrous shirt? Hella-hot Moab hike? Check. Kept me cool and dry. Four hikes up Mt St Helens with zero shade? Check. Cool, dry AND held up to highly-abrasive lava rock. Hiking in humid and almost 90 degrees up Table Mountain in WA? Check. No sticky-wet feeling here! This tee does it all and keeps you feeling dry the whole time. It dries before almost everything else on my drying rack these days! It even resists stinking like so many of my running shirts because of an integrated anti-odor material called PURE. Oh… did I mention I throw it on with skorts to dress up all the time too?
This tee has become my go-to tech layer and summer item. It comes in a million colors and prints… I have 4 solids and 2 prints at this point and I’m still not sick of it! Geez – even my mom has a couple of them. If you need to pack ONE shirt for a vacation, adventure or just for a summer weekend, the Double-Time V-tee is it!
